As schools remain closed across the country, learning has either changed or been interrupted for millions of children. This also means gym class and recess are effectively canceled, leaving parents to figure out ways to keep their kids active while they stay home.

To help keep kids moving and busy, The Little Gym, a children’s gym offering activities for kids including parent/child classes, kids dance, gymnastics, sports skills and karate, has added dozens of classes to their YouTube channel so kids can participate for free.

While The Little Gym locations are currently closed across the country, each franchisee has been encouraged to host their own classes on YouTube and Facebook Live, so kids who are used to going to The Little Gym can continue to learn from their favorite instructor. Because the classes are free and on YouTube, however, it means that even kids who don’t normally go to The Little Gym or those that don’t have one near them can also participate.

The Little Gym offers movement-based learning and imaginative play for kids 6 months to 12 years old, while the YouTube version of classes are designed to help keep children moving, learning and having fun while at home.

The program includes the same class elements that children would experience in their weekly class at their local The Little Gym, including the “Hello Song,” warm-up, movement activities, balls and bubbles, “Goodbye Song” and more — all for free. Classes are around 20 minutes in length, with some being a little less and some being closer to 30 minutes.

To find a class, just go to The Little Gym’s YouTube channel. The videos are color-coded by age, with pink being for children ages 10 months to 3 years, teal for 3- to 6-year-olds and purple for kids ages 6-12. Some lessons are designed for children to do on their own, while others include parental involvement.
